Pollution Control - Today's improved turfgrass varieties are very effective in reducing pollution. Turfgrass traps and removes dust and dirt from the air. 2,500 square feet of lawn absorbs carbon dioxide from the atmosphere, and releases enough oxygen for a family of four to breathe.
Nature's Air Conditioner - Another benefit that everyone enjoys, usually without notice, is turfgrass' tremendous cooling effect. On a hot summer day, lawns will be 30 degrees cooler than asphalt and 14 degrees cooler than bare soil. The front lawns of eight houses have the cooling effect of about 70 tons of air conditioning. That's amazing when the average home has an air conditioner with just a three or four ton capacity. The cooling effect of irrigated turf reduces the amount of fuel that must be burned to provide the electricity which powers the air conditioners. Turfgrass cools the atmosphere by reflecting as much as 50% of the sun’s heat.
A Natural Filter - Runoff water in urban areas carries many pollutants. Turfgrass acts as a natural filter, reducing pollution by purifying the water passing through its root zone. A sodded yard will absorb more rain than a seeded yard; even after three years of growth. A healthy, sodded yard absorbs rainfall six times more effectively than a wheat field and four times better than a hay field. Water is actually purified as it passes through the turfgrass root zone allowing for cleaner water leaving the turfgrass root zone than what had entered into the turfgrass. This process helps restore our groundwater supplies.
Erosion & Noise Control - Stop rain and wind from eroding your lawn and creating a muddy mess.SOD can reduce noise by as much as 30%.

Ordering:
The entire process of getting fresh SOD on your lawn is easy. First, fill out our request form and click the submit button. To speed up the process and even save money, some customers measure out how much square feet of SOD they need and prep the lawn before we come out. Once we know how much SOD and prep work you need, we order your fresh grass a day ahead of schedule. The SOD is cut and delivered on the same day. There will be a delivery fee between $25 and $55 depending on how much SOD you need. Once we have planted, you must water the SOD for about 7 to 12 days for about an hour a day, preferably between 4am and 8am.
Its all about the SOD quality: Don’t be fooled by other SOD. The SOD we plant is grown on the Gulf Coast. This means several things: The grass is greener and healthier. The grass is high quality and does not contain weeds or insects. The grass comes with a thick layer (about 1.5”) of black gumbo soil. The SOD is cut on the same day it is delivered. Other SOD companies sell and plant grass that has been there for days. It is dried out and brown. This poor quality sod has a very thin base and falls apart easily. Call us or fill out the request form, you will have a new lawn in just hours!

Our SOD Work
Choosing SOD is like picking produce at the market.
Our SOD is cut fresh from the SOD farm, then delivered to your home or business. It's green, crisp, lush and vibrant with a thick soil base. Like a fresh tomato you would pick up at the store, minus the soil.
Don't be fooled by other SOD companies that claim to have fresh grass. Why buy rotten tomatoes when you can have fresh ones right from the garden? You wouldn't buy this tomato would you? Then why buy poor quality SOD? Call or click on the form for a free estimate today.
